Custom Events Analytics (/analytics/events)

The Custom Events view displays all automatic and custom interactions captured on your site—including outbound_link clicks, file_download clicks, declarative data-velo-event elements, and window.velo('track', ...) calls.

1. Event Summary Cards

Three top metric cards summarize event activity for the selected date range (Today, 24h, 48h, 7d, 30d):

• Total Custom Events: Cumulative count of all custom, download, and outbound events fired across all event types.
• Selected Event: Total count for the currently highlighted event in the table below.
• Unique Visitors: Number of distinct verified human visitors who triggered the currently selected event.

2. Interactive Event Trend Chart

Selecting any event from the Ranked Custom Events table updates the Event Trend area chart at the top of the page. This chart plots hourly or daily occurrences for that specific event over your selected timeframe so you can measure conversion spikes following product launches or campaigns.

3. Event Breakdown Lists (Pages & Targets)

Below the trend chart, two side-by-side panels break down the context for the currently selected event:

1. Top Pages: Shows which URL paths on your website generated the most occurrences of the selected event (e.g., seeing whether signup_click happens more frequently on / or /pricing).
2. Top Targets / Downloaded Files:
   • For file_download events, lists the specific file URLs downloaded most frequently.
   • For outbound_link events, lists the external destination URLs clicked by your visitors.
   • For custom events with target labels, lists the top targets.

4. Ranked Custom Events Table

At the bottom of the page, the Ranked Custom Events table lists every recorded event name sorted by volume:

• Category Badge: Automatically classifies each event as:
  • Download (file_download or download-related events)
  • Outbound (outbound_link or external link clicks)
  • Custom (your custom application events)
• Total Count & Unique Visitors: Compare total triggers against unique visitors to see whether an action is being repeated by the same visitors or broadly adopted across your audience.
• Share Bar: Shows each event’s percentage share of total custom event volume.
• Click to Inspect: Click any row in the table to load its time-series trend, top pages, and top targets in the panels above.
